หลังจากที่ได้ปล่อย New MacBook 13 นิ้ว กับ New MacBook Pro 15 มาก่อนหน้านี้แล้ว และในค่ำคืนที่ผ่านมาในงาน Macworld 2009 ทาง Apple ก็ได้เผยโฉม New MacBook Pro 17 นิ้วแต่ยังคงเป็นแบบ Panda Style

สำหรับเจ้า New MacBook Pro 17 นิ้ว รุ่นใหม่รูปร่างหน้าตาก็ไม่มีอะไรแตกต่างไปจากรุ่น 15 นิ้ว ที่ออกมาก่อนหน้านี้ ซึ่งรูปแบบ Panda Style และแน่นอนตัวเครื่องขึ้นรูปมาจาก aluminum ที่ค่อยเจียรไนขึ้นรูปอย่างปราณีต ทำให้ตัวเครื่องไร้รอยต่อ และมีความทนทานแข็งแรง

ซึ่งจอขนาด 17 นิ้วนั้น เป็นแบบ LED-backlit ที่มีความละเอียดของหน้าจอสูง ซึ่งส่งผลให้สามารถแสดงสีสันได้ดีขึ้น นอกจากนั้นก็ยังมี Multi-Touch glass trackpad ที่สามารถใช้นิ้วในการทำงานได้ถึง 4 น้ิว ไม่ว่าจะซูมดูรูปหรือเรียกหน้าต่างวินโดต่างๆ ออกมาใช้ หรือคลิ๊กขวาก็ใช้ได้ แค่ใช้ปลายนิ้ว

ในส่วนของสเป็คนั้น สปีค CPU มีมาให้แรงสะใจถึง 2.66GHz และแน่นอนยังคงใช้เป็น Intel Core 2 Duo และ Ram เริ่มต้นที่ 4GB และสามารถอัพได้สูงสุดถึง 8GB ด้วยกัน เรียกว่าเเรงขั้นเทพกันไปเลย มาดูด้านการ์ดจอกันบ้างซึ่งก็มี 2 ตัว เหมือนกับใน MacBook 15 นิ้ว คือ NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512MB of GDDR3 memory และ NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM เรียกว่ารองรับทั้งงานกราฟิคและเกมส์ได้เป็นอย่างดี

ส่วนแบตเตอรี่ทาง Apple เครมว่า เมื่อชาร์ตเต็ม สามารถใช้งานได้ยาวนานถึง 8 ชั่วโมง โดยที่ใช้งาน wireless ตลอดเวลาด้วย นอกจากนี้ยังสามารถ recharged ได้มากกว่าพันครั้ง
